The 6ND410 is a state-of-the-art, ultra-high output midrange product for high quality professional use. The high level of sound quality was achieved thanks to extensive research by Eighteen Sound engineer who focused on the implementation of mid frequency intelligibility. The 6ND410 can be used as both horn and direct radiation midrange, closed cases or reflex, up to 2 liters. The extremely powerful external neodymium magnet assembly ensures high flux concentration, low power compression and excellent heat exchange. Consequently, the levels of force factor and power handling are at the highest professional levels with an optimal weight / power ratio. A consistent heat transfer is guaranteed by the encapsulation of the magnetic structure inside the basket, offering a large contact space between the back plate and the dissipating structure. The curvilinear cone-surround was created using computer-assisted vibration modeling software to move any unwanted bell modes out of the usable frequency range. The 45mm voice coil assembly and terminals have been designed to minimize moving mass while enhancing force transmission. The 3 threaded holes in the back plate give the possibility for the end user to insert a custom external heat sink if additional heat dissipation is required. A proprietary moisture lock cone treatment makes the transducer suitable for outdoor use in adverse weather conditions. In addition, a special coating applied to both the top and rear plates makes the 6ND410 much more resistant to the corrosive effects of salts and oxidation.
