The 18TLW3000 is a high performance 18 inch diameter subwoofer designed for high SPL subwoofer applications in reflex, band pass or horn configuration. For best results, we recommend using power amplifiers capable of delivering 3600W program power without clipping

18TLW3000 uses Eighteen Sound's proprietary Tetracoil technology, in which two different axially separated magnetic spaces and two 4 "inner-outer diameter voice coils are wound on the same holder and suspended evenly in the two magnetic spaces.

The main advantages of the Tetracoil design are:

1) a symmetrical flux density with respect to the displacement behavior, which minimizes the products of uniform distortion;

2) a very symmetrical and flat inductance curve;

3) the equivalent diameter of the voice coil of a 4 "Tetracoil loudspeaker is greater than 6". As a result, heat dissipation occurs over a larger surface area, bringing AES power management up to 1800 W.

The design features of the 18TLW3000 include a large displacement suspension system which, in combination with a rigid glass fiber reinforced cone, enables ultra-linear piston action and provides full mechanical control over the entire range of work.

In order to further increase the power handling and reduce the power compression value, an air diffractor of the low density material is placed in the vent hole of the back plate which acts as a cooling system, increasing the capacity power management and lowering the power compression value.

18TLW3000 is able to function correctly in adverse weather conditions: the exclusive cone treatment improves the resistance of the pulp and gives water repellent properties to both sides of the membrane. In addition, the coating of the metal plates of the magnetic structure is much more resistant than the standard zinc coating to the corrosive effects of salts and oxidation.
